Ancient Fire. Future Pulse.
SHAMASH’s journey in music began at childhood surrounded by a large family of dancers and musicians and with a deep reverence for its power to uplift the spirit and unite people across all walks of life. Born of Assyrian descent—indigenous to the cradle of civilization in Mesopotamia—music has always been more than an art form; it is a sacred inheritance, woven into the very soul of our people.
Our Assyrian musical traditions span more than 6,000 years. They echo through time in celebration, in ceremony, and in survival. To this day, we play instruments that were among the first ever created on Earth. It’s a legacy that is both ancient and alive—deeply rooted and ever-evolving.
Through my world travels, I’ve been equally moved by the powerful sounds of African and Latin cultures, whose music—like ours—carries profound emotion, resilience, and ancestral memory. These rhythms, though culturally distinct, speak a shared language of joy, struggle, devotion, and movement.
SHAMASH was born as a bridge:
To honor the ancient, and pulse with the future.
To awaken remembrance, and inspire presence.
To preserve the sacred sounds of my lineage while weaving in global tribal rhythms and frequencies that transcend borders and foster togetherness and community, while providing top level entertainment.
This project is not just music. It is a prayer. A dance. A celebration of indigenous resilience, mystical knowing, and planetary unity.
May every rhythm move you in a way that is uniquely your own.
May every moment shared in sound bring us closer to joy, to peace, and to each other.
With love and luminous fire,
SHAMASH
